FUSION is a flexible and comprehensive solution which delivers an enterprise level MEDITECH Integration Platform and utilizes Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) as part of the underlying design.

In line with the United States National Health Information Network’s (NHINs) vision, Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs) and hospitals who have implemented MEDITECH system(s) have a significant need for a viable means to pass data to and from the MEDITECH system into the Health Information Exchange (HIE). Business Innovation’s FUSION product has been designed for this purpose.

FUSION handles interactions with the Record Locator Service (RLS), and seamlessly connects to the other data stores to return the requested data. Additionally, FUSION exposes data for duly authorized inbound requests from other service providers.

FUSION brings together core, established products from well-known firms and recognized leaders in integration technologies, into a packaged solution targeted at addressing the MEDITECH integration challenge.

The backbone of the solution is the InterSystems Ensemble, Universal Integration Platform.

FUSION utilizes MEDITECH adaptors from Boston Software scripting technologies, which allows for direct interaction with the MEDITECH user interface for bidirectional data flow; and Valco Data Systems, which allows for direct query access into the Meditech databases.
